the gutierrez family

When I first met Monica and spoke to her about taking family photos, I knew we were in store for a great afternoon already because of how vibrant her personality is. Bryan and I met Monica and her husband Jose at their family's home in Marietta recently. It was here we were introduced to a family who is beautiful, both inside and out!

Jose is the pastor of a local church, Restauracion Atlanta, where part of their mission statement is founded on a verse in John holding so much meaning (especially for us creative professionals) which says "do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life." There is a certain strength and joy to living like this and we hope we captured that on this day with them.

I simply love the passion this couple holds for each other, their family and the community surrounding them. Such beautiful people!

The weather was sunny and warm and we had a wonderful day photographing the facets of their family.

Monica and Jose, thank you for letting us spend the afternoon with you documenting your gorgeous family! You all have such beautiful spirits!

miss amelia mae

Remember the belly photos we did for my brother and sister-in-law?
We're now completely won over, more than proud and head over heels in love aunt erin and uncle sintos to one beautiful miss amelia mae chupp!

Little amelia, or "ellie," lives in canada with her amazing parents, so she got to come meet us (and see the ground sans snow) after getting her passport! Least to say, we were immediately smitten. i mean, just look at her!
Thanks to Miss Mamie's, we got to take photos of our own little cupcake in the bakery!
(although amelia is certainly not without beautiful pictures as her parents are the awesome duo of Chupp Photography outside of Ontario!)

Amelia fell peacefully asleep after a little lunch, so we thought it was a good as time as any to try these next photos:

again, and perhaps I'm biased, but how precious is she?

such a beautiful family

Kyle and Vanessa, thanks so much for letting us take pictures of your beautiful daughter--she's a treasure. We love you guys for so many reasons! And little Amelia, the way your eyes lock with mine is breathtaking. I simply can't wait until the next time I get to snuggle you into my arms again. We shall be the best of friends. And you can always come visit your aunt and uncle sintos when you need a cupcake!

Can't wait to show you more from our sunny afternoon with them!

brides atlanta feature!

We've been featured!

Bryan and I were recently contacted by Kim Forrest of Brides Atlanta magazine to be interviewed for, and published in, the Spring 2011 issue--what an honor! I can't believe our wedding was nearly 10 months ago; every day is still so fresh and new!

It's so neat to be published in a magazine, as we never realized other people would find inspiration in the details we lovingly crafted because they just meant something special to us. I remember one of the kindest compliments we received that night was when someone stated they enjoyed seeing "us" in every bit of the wedding.

This feature is also exciting because the interview itself allowed us the chance to relive some beautiful, funny and even awkward moments of the day--all which are relished. And this look back wouldn't be complete without saying that I was warmed over and moved to a tear or two again when we went through our wedding photos by Altmix Photography. Amazing photogs, and now friends, these two really captured our day in a way we'll always be grateful for. They're a wonderful inspiration to us!

In case you can't read the library cards turned favor cards on the planted peace lillies photo, they read:
"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our SOULS BLOSSOM." --Marcel Proust

Our beautiful wedding was made so by the love and hard work of so many precious family members and friends.

Thanks, Brides Atlanta, for a lovely feature!
