wedding feature: Green Wedding Shoes

Can't tell you how excited I am to finally reveal the WILDLY exciting styled wedding shoot we've been working on and how even more thrilled I am to have it featured on Green Wedding Shoes ! I've been following this blog since I was engaged, and it's such an honor to see our work appear on here!

We also had the wonderful opportunity to work with filmmaker Michael Dunaway to get a behind-the-scenes documentary look at our shoot. This would be such an awesome way to remember your wedding!

A HUGE shout out to these amazingly talented Atlanta vendors who worked with us to pull off an inspirational shoot that really pushes the envelope:

styling + floral design: Juli Vaughn Designs
makeup: Elizabeth Haynie
paper goods: byKsenia
original film score: Evan Hodges

rebecca + jay. wedding preview.

Simple and sweet with style. Rebecca and Jay's wedding in Atlanta this past Saturday was just that. They are such an endearing couple. I can't wait to share more photos of their wedding with you as you won't help but to fall for them as I did.

And talk about classic with a twist! I just loved the bridesmaids in skirts and cardigans with the brightest pop of canary yellow flowers. So great!

Happy Monday, friends!

In the works

Good things come to those who wait. Did your parents ever tell you that too?
We haven't posted photos in a little while, but we sure are busy taking them! We're excited about what's in the works and can't wait to share more images with everyone!

We're also entering a pretty full fall season this week {yay!}. If you'd like to schedule family portraits for holiday cards and gifts, now is definitely the time! Check our 2012 Merry & Bright line and give us a shout!

KIPP Scribes Book Launch

Yesterday at the Decatur Book Festival we had the privilege of being regaled with historical fiction tales from some of Atlanta's most enthusiastic emerging authors, the KIPP Scribes.  Together with the Wren's Nest, this group of 17 5th, 6th and 7th grade students from KIPP STRIVE Academy released their latest book, Read After Burning, post Civil War stories set in Atlanta. And wow, can this crew captivate a crowd! To see the excitement in the students' bright eyes as they introduced themselves to me as published authors and hear their animated voices as their written words came to life was magnificent. It was so wonderful to be there to capture this event!
(And I can't wait to read more of these stories!)

Thanks for a great afternoon, KIPP Scribes! I can't wait to see how you all will continue to affect the literary scene in Atlanta!

If you're interested in diving into these stories as well, the Wren's Nest shop should have it online soon!
